    POSITION SUMMARY:
    To be fully engaged in providing Quality/No Harm, Customer Experience, and Stewardship:

    by ensuring quality, timeliness and effectiveness of stroke care delivery for HRMC; by providing supervision/observation of a patient when he/she requires a Form 52: Baker Act Declaration, Suicide Precautions are indicated, or any time it is determined that a patient's safety may be jeopardized without supervision/observation.


    PRIMARY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

    • Immediately reports clear, concise, pertinent information to the charge nurse/nurse assigned to patient that relates to the patient's condition.
    • Immediately alerts nursing staff of any impending safety issues.
    • Remains alert during entire shift.
    • Never leaves the patient unattended unless approved by the patient's nurse (from memorable customer experience).
    • Utilizes clear and effective communication skills in professional interactions with all health care associates, patients and families.
    • Reports to the charge nurse/nurse assigned to patient at the beginning of each shift for expectations regarding specific behavioral and restraining instructions.
    • Reports a shift summary to the charge nurse/nurse assigned to patient at the completion of each shift.
    • Immediately reports clear, concise, pertinent information to the charge nurse/nurse assigned to patient that related to the patient's condition.
    • Immediately alerts nursing staff of any impending safety issues.
    • Remains alert during entire shift.

    Stewardship:
    Assists with patient care, at the request of the professional nursing staff, within own limitations and competencies.


    QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:

    Education:
    High School diploma or equivalent.


    Licensure:
    None required


    Certification:
    None required


    Experience:
    Must meet unit specific requirements.

    Language:
    Must be able to speak/understand written and verbal instructions in the English language.

    Transportation:
    Must have reliable transportation and ability to travel amongst all four Health First Hospitals.


    PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

    • Must be able to sit up to 90% of the assigned shift.
    • Must have corrected vision and hearing to normal range.
    • Must have visual acuity and hand-eye coordination to perform clinical tasks.
    • Potential for exposure to bio hazardous waste, and known or unknown disease stabilities of the position.
