The Director of Finance serves as a senior member of the LSC leadership team overseeing financial operations ensuring sound financial management practices helping drive the mission of Liberty STEAM Charter School through effective use of resources.Responsibilities
- Financial Management & Reporting: Oversee manage all aspects of accounting financial operations including budgeting financial reporting cash flow needs forecasting Prepare present monthly quarterly annual financial statements Executive Director Board Directors relevant stakeholders Further develop maintain Financial Dashboard present monthly Board Committee meetings Board Directors meetings Ensure accurate timely preparation annual audit Form 990 tax return Present Executive Director audit firm candidates recommendation Manage cash flow ensuring adequate liquidity operations identifying areas cost reduction efficiency improvement Budgeting & Financial Planning: Lead budgeting process collaboration other departments create organization's annual budget multi-year financial projections Monitor budget performance throughout year identifying variances implementing corrective actions necessary Analyze financial data trends provide strategic insights recommendations senior leadership Stay current trends salaries teachers surrounding areas make recommendations Executive Director new year salary adjustments start budget process Payroll Administration: Oversee payroll processing staff ensuring accuracy timeliness compliance federal state local regulations Manage payroll systems tax filings benefits deductions coordination HR compensation staffing changes Ensure compliance wage hour laws retirement plans employee benefit requirements Reconcile benefits payroll deductions Banking & Cash Management: Manage banking relationships operating accounts reserve accounts credit facilities investment accounts Monitor cash flow liquidity ensure school meets all financial obligations Negotiate banking services fees optimize financial efficiency Manage deposits loan construction payments Insurance & Risk Management: Oversee insurance programs property liability workers' compensation student accident IT directors officers D&O coverage Serve primary point contact insurance brokers carriers Compliance & Regulatory Oversight: Ensure compliance federal state local regulations maintaining proper accounting records adhering Liberty Financial Policy Manual accounting standards GAAP FASB guidelines Ensure timely filing financial documents Form 990 regulatory requirements Act main liaison auditors ensure proper documentation place annual audits reviews Grants Federal Programs Fundraising Support Work closely Development track donations pledges gifts proper documentation use funds Provide analysis reporting fundraising campaigns revenue-generating activities Provide tax documents donors IRS guidelines Work closely Quixote Foundation support philanthropic support LSCS Leadership Team Management Assist Executive Director shaping organization'sfinancial strategy aligns mission long-term goals Identify implement strategies sustainable growth ensures remains financially healthy scales operations needed Leadership Strategic Planning Sustainability:
