    Job Description

    DOUGLAS, GEORGIA

    OPERATIVE JOB DESCRIPTION

    JOB TITLE: BLASTER

    DEPARTMENT: FINISHING

    PAY LEVEL: H01

    JOB FUNCTION:

    Utilizing manual cabinet blasting machine, removes residual ceramic from castings and performs additional finish blasting as required.

    SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Schedules and performs blasting work by reading router instructions and following the supervisor's schedule.
    • Perform required operations on buffing wheel.
    • Sandblasts parts as necessary.
    • Insure visual acceptance of castings.
    • Record on daily basis all work performed and correct distribution of work time identifying same by operational codes. Must follow number routing card in sequence.
    • Keep work area clean, orderly, and in safe condition, follow all safety rules.
    • Maintain a positive work atmosphere by behaving and communicating in a manner that gets along with customers, clients, co-workers, and supervisors.
    • Must be able to keep pace with product coming from work cell grain etch and product going to and from heat treat making sure product moves in a timely manner.

    EDUCATION:

    High school education.

    EXPERIENCE:

    Three months OJT training. Must understand routings of all product.

    INITIATIVE AND INGENUITY:

    Normal initiative and ingenuity.

    EFFORT:

    Normal effort required. Repetitive lifting/adjusting of pounds times per hour).

    RESPONSIBILITY:

    Responsible for self. Make sure parts meet quality standards. Keep pressure blast machine in good working order. Must be willing to work daily overtime and weekend overtime as necessary. Must be willing to work daily overtime and weekend overtime as necessary.

    JOB CONDITIONS:

    Good working conditions, dusty, noisy.
