    About the Role

    CAMBA is a community-driven organization providing comprehensive services to over 73,000 individuals and families in New York City. We take a holistic approach by offering more than 180 integrated programs across education, youth development, family support, job training, employment, health, housing, and legal services.

    This role plays a crucial part in our mission to empower marginalized communities by supporting homeless men and women with mental illness and substance abuse issues. Our team at the Park Slope Shelter for Women provides a safe and therapeutic environment for clients to stabilize their condition and transition into permanent housing.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Serve as a liaison with outside organizations to secure essential services such as employment, education, healthcare, and housing.
    • Assist clients in reducing or stopping substance use by identifying and referring them to appropriate services within and outside CAMBA.
    • Provide individualized counseling on addiction and related topics.
    • Counsel clients on behavioral, educational, family dynamics, mental and physical health, housing, personal finances, and trauma-related issues.
    • Develop and facilitate group counseling sessions on drug and alcohol use and related topics.

    Requirements

    • Masters Degree (M.A.) or related field and/or equivalent experience. A license is required for Social Work (LMSW or LCSW), Mental Health Counseling (LMHC), Counseling/Guidance, Art Therapy degrees.

    Benefits

    $45,000-$48,000 annually
