    Description
    J.R. Filanc Construction Company, Inc. is looking for Water/Wastewater Design Engineers to work in Escondido, CA and various unanticipated locations throughout the U.S. Requires a Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or related field and 5 yrs. of exp. in related position. At least 6 months of exp.

    must include preparing technical memoranda and design reports using Excel, Word, and PowerPoint; maintaining project schedules and budgets using Microsoft Project; coordinating with regulatory and permitting authorities; and use of AutoCAD, Civil3D, and AutoDesk Revit.

    Job Duties:


    Technical memoranda, design reports, engineering calculations, drawings and specifications are prepared using water and wastewater infrastructure engineering design principles and applicable design guides and standards through expert knowledge of Microsoft business software tools such as Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and etc.; Coordination with other design disciplines requires strong technical understanding of potential conflicts between disciplines on water and wastewater treatment projects and then leverage effective communication to understand various perspectives and developing action steps to move forward; The work of CAD designers is directed using detailed annotating and notes on blueprints through Bluebeam software along with an intermediate knowledge of computer design and drafting software such as AutoCAD, Civil3D, and Autodesk Revit to conceptualize and model projects; Project budget and schedules are managed using effective project management skills to take a project from an idea to completion within budget and deadlines.

    Effective project management skills include planning the workload, communicating deadlines, managing budget, coordinating with team members, troubleshooting, and etc. The budget is often tracked through an Earned Valve Analysis method created with an excel sheet.

    Use of Microsoft Project; Successful collaboration with construction staffs and teaming partners are accomplished through strong knowledge of construction and constructability practices and principles through experience on water and wastewater infrastructure projects through understanding contract documents such as design drawings and specifications along with problem-solving skills with the ability to identify problems, brainstorm analyze options, and implement the best solutions for stakeholders; Coordination with regulatory and permitting authorities are completed through understanding of the relevant legislations and attention to details on the specific requirements applicable to the projects along with negotiating skills to settle on permitting limits that compiles with regulations while remain practical for the stakeholders to implement and maintain; Construction engineering services such as submittal reviews, field evaluations, and etc.

    are provided through analytical skills to understand vendors' submittal on equipment/product in relations to the contract documents (design drawings and specifications) and industry standards to ensure the equipment/product recommended by the vendors meets the design intent and performance metrics.

    Construction Management software such as Procore is used to manage the submittal and review process;

    Preparing technical memoranda and design reports using Excel, Word, and PowerPoint; maintaining project schedules and budgets using Microsoft Project; coordinating with regulatory and permitting authorities; and use of AutoCAD, Civil3D, and AutoDesk Revit.

    Position may require travel.

    Education:
    Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or related field.

    Experience:
    Five years of experience in the position offered or related position

    Special Requirements:
    At least 6 months of the aforementioned experience must include the following:

    Preparing technical memoranda and design reports using Excel, Word, and PowerPoint; maintaining project schedules and budgets using Microsoft Project; coordinating with regulatory and permitting authorities; and use of AutoCAD, Civil3D, and AutoDesk Revit.


    Salary:
    $85k-$115k depending on experience
