    Position Summary

    The Director of Acute Care Pharmacy Services provides leadership, vision and oversight for pharmacy services across the pharmacy enterprise.

    This position is responsible for the development, implementation, coordination, performance, effectiveness and documentation of pharmacy services to promote optimal medication use for the patients of Children's Minnesota.

    Primary contact with department leads, medical and patient care leadership to determine needs, resolve problems, improve processes, and promote pharmacy initiatives which align with the organization's direction.

    Other duties as assigned.


    License/Certification/Registration:
    *Registered Pharmacist in the state of Minnesota, current or within three months of hire required
    *Basic Life Support (BLS) certification current or within three months of hire due to professional staff credentialing requirement required


    Education:
    *Graduate from a college/school of Pharmacy accredited by the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE) OR graduate from a foreign college of pharmacy that has at least a five-year curriculum and has passed the Foreign Pharmacy Graduate Equivalency Examination (FPGEE) and become certified by the Foreign Pharmacy Graduate Equivalency Commission (FPGEC) required
    *Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) from an ACPE-accredited institution preferred
    *Advanced degree (e.g., MBA, MHA) preferred


    Required Experience:
    *3 years of pharmacy management experience within a health-system
    *Completion of an accredited PGY1 and/or PGY2 residency or equivalent experience


    Preferred Experience:
    *Pediatric pharmacy experience

    *Communication: ability to organize and express information and ideas well, verbal and written, to individuals as well as groups

    *Positive personal demeanor with strong interpersonal skills, ability to build collaborative relationships and influence others
    *Knowledge of computer systems (MS Office suite, email, electronic health record, etc.)

    *Ability to grow pharmacy leaders and pharmacy teams

    *Professional Staff Relations: builds effective partnerships with medical staff, physicians, and other practitioners to move pharmacy practice forward
    *Possesses strong analytical and critical thinking and decision-making skills
    *Self-starter and positive attitude
    *Ability to work with ambiguity
    *In depth knowledge of regulatory requirements (Joint Commission, CMS, MN Board of Pharmacy, etc.) as it relates to pharmacy practice
    *Ability to manage multiple priorities and a rapidly changing environment
    *Ability to effectively influence others

    The posted pay range represents rates for a grouping of multiple jobs within a salary grade.
