    The West Virginia Regional Digital Identity Hub at West Virginia University is currently accepting applications for a Program Manager.

    The West Virginia Regional Digital Identity Hub is composed of a close-knit and diverse network of public sector leaders, Fortune class companies, tech founders, investors, academics and public sector leaders. Underpinning this effort is a shared a commitment that our efforts will position of the United States to provide principled digital identity leadership around the world.

    This role will play a key role in coordinating key stakeholders, provide program management and grant management expertise in a fast-paced operating environment comprised of a diverse set of public-private-academic partnerships. The role will be focus on supporting the development of a strategic plan aimed cultivating a thriving, globally significant technology ecosystem in West Virginia. Additionally, the incumbent will support the efforts to build community, attract investment, develop talent, and seed collaboration with existing and emerging technology and innovation partners developing critical technologies as well as enabling new processes, policies, and solutions for a digital identity capability. The position will report to the PI while fully supporting Regional Innovation Officer and will work closely with the Hub's Leadership

  • What you'll do:

  • Provide oversight and grant management. This position will manage key deliverables throughout the grant life cycle and ensure funder requirements are met and will be the main liaison between Sponsor, EDA, subawards and office of sponsored programs.
  • Plan and manage program execution - Coordinate with the team to lay out the activities and timelines for the programming events. Working with the program workstreams to successfully execute on the convening events and activities and ensure they align with their original strategic purposes. Ensure programming costs are falling within budget.
  • Engage & communicate regularly with stakeholders - Share (both written and verbally) with all relevant stakeholders to give updates on the programs and their progress. Keep stakeholders engaged with the program as it grows, to help bolster their continued involvement.
  • Support the external communication efforts - Work with the program leadership to communicate clear messaging about the program through various mediums, including website, newsletters, social media, collateral, and content marketing.
  • Collaborate with program assistant and Consortium members - Manage and collaborate with Program Assistant to help them execute on the programming and marketing needs. Coordinate with the program Consortium members to ensure programming and events are driving forward timely and efficiently, and responsibilities are being shared. Recruit consortium members (or workstream volunteers) as needed.
  • Track and report on goals and metrics - Update dashboards to effectively track and measure the grant program's progress on specific targets.
  • Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree required. An equivalent amount of education and experience may also be considered.
  • 2 or more years of experience in either program management, grant management, project management, and/or operations
  • Detail oriented with excellent communication skills, both oral and written
  • Seasoned individual with a proven track record of taking ownership and running complex projects with positive results
  • Team player who is passionate about making a positive impact
  • Anticipates change and directs (or redirects) efforts
  • Works effectively & collaboratively with cross functional teams, including overseeing multiple initiatives, driving towards shared goals
  • Proactively looks for and finds ways to improve operations; process efficiency
  • Strong understanding and direct experience working in an innovation ecosystem
  • Able to relate and build relationships effectively with a wide variety of people - startups, executives, VCs, students, etc. Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work autonomously and be self-sufficient in your deliverables & time management
  • Excellent organizational skills and demonstrated attention to detail
  • Very strong written & verbal communication skills
  • Willing to roll up your sleeves and help with anything that may come up
  • Requirements

    The WVURC was created as a not-for-profit corporation in 1985 to support research (R1) at West Virginia University. We provide evaluation, development, patenting, management, and marketing services for inventions of the faculty, staff and students of the University.

    The WVURC receives and administers funds awarded by external agencies for research and other activities and is responsible for helping protect intellectual property through patents, copyrights and licensing agreements for start-up companies based on University research.
