    Position Summary:

    Accountable for providing quality computed tomography studies to include abdominal, pelvic, brain, thorax, skeletal, and vascular anatomy for use by the Radiologist in the diagnosis of patient illness. Administers oral and IV contrast media appropriately

    Essential Functions:

    Performs CT examinations and procedures as requested by the referring physician and Radiologist and prepares equipment and supplies.Drag Edit DeleteReviews patient history and physician's orders.Drag Edit DeleteEducates patient regarding procedures, equipment and exam to ensure patient's understanding and cooperation.
    Drag Edit DeleteWhen ordered, prepares and administers contrast media and/or medications within scope of practice.
    Drag Edit DeleteMonitors patient condition continually and reports/responds to changes in status as appropriate.
    Drag Edit DeleteImplements safety standards and performs appropriate quality control procedures on equipment.Drag Edit DeleteTroubleshoots, resolves, and/or reports equipment malfunctions as necessary.
    Drag Edit DeletePositions patient and performs imaging procedure(s).Drag Edit DeleteAnalyzes results and identifies issues with the quality of imaging results.Drag Edit DeleteTakes appropriate action to resolve image quality issues, including repositioning patient and repeating procedure.Drag Edit DeleteEnters, transmits and reports scan results.

    Minimum Education
    Graduate of school of Radiologic Technology RequiredDrag Edit DeleteRequired Skills
    Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.Drag Edit DeleteRequired Skills
    Certifications:
    Basic Life Support (BLS) - to be obtained within the first 30 days after hire.Drag Edit DeleteRequired Skills
    Licenses:
    ARRT registered in Radiography and WV licensure. (CT registered preferred). CPR Certification.Drag Edit DeleteMinimum Work Experience
    Minimum of one-year RT experience. Minimum of six months of current CT experience.
    Must be physically able to stand long hours and lift heavy objects.
    Preference will be given to Registered CT applicants with experience.
