    PRIMARY FUNCTION The Aircraft Hydraulic Systems Specialists Troubleshoots, removes, repairs, overhauls, inspects, adjusts, installs, and tests aircraft hydraulic and In-flight Refueling (IFR) systems and components, including support equipment (SE)

    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

    • Inspects, operates, troubleshoots, removes, repairs, overhauls, and installs aircraft hydraulic and pneumatic systems and components, including SE.
    • Uses hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical/electronic principles and fundamentals, technical orders, and schematic diagrams to isolate malfunctions.
    • Advises on problems maintaining aircraft hydraulic systems
    Determines maintenance procedures and performance characteristics using applicable technical publications.

    • Identifies and isolates malfunctions, services, bleeds, bench checks, rigs, and performs adjustments to aircraft hydraulic components, associated electrical components, and power systems.
    • Conducts operational hydraulic / pneumatic checks and repairs to landing gear, nose wheel steering, brakes, flight controls, weapons and cargo door systems, air refueling receiving systems, IFR systems, hoist and winch systems, engine start systems, recovery systems, arresting gear, air induction systems, and canopy systems.
    • Inspects and pressure tests hydraulic hose and tube assemblies.
    • Drains and flushes hydraulic systems.
    • Overhauls, repairs, adjusts, aligns, and tests hydraulic system and sub-system components.
    • Fabricates and bench checks hose assemblies
    Operates and maintains shop equipment.

    • Assists with T-38 aircraft jacking, lifting, mooring, and towing operations.
    • Assists in launching and recovering of T-38 aircraft.
    • Records pertinent data on equipment maintenance data collection forms and enters data into Maintenance Information Systems.
    • Interprets inspection findings and determines adequacy of corrective actions.
    • Handles, labels, and disposes of hazardous materials and waste according to federal, state and local environmental standards.
    • Interprets inspection findings and determines adequacy of corrective actions.
    • Inspects and checks components for clearances, tolerances, proper installation, and operation.
    • Inspects and identifies aircraft corrosion for prevention and repair.
    • Reviews maintenance data collection summaries to determine trends and production effectiveness.
    • Performs pre-use inspections and operates powered and non-powered aerospace ground equipment.
    • May be required to perform entry and maintenance tasks in confined spaces.
    • Recommends methods to improve equipment performance and maintenance procedures.
    • Uses automated maintenance systems
    Inputs, validates, and analyzes data processed to automated systems.

    • Inspects, clears, and closes out completed maintenance discrepancies in automated maintenance systems.
    • Document maintenance as per Quality Assurance (QA) and established regulatory requirements.
    • Stores, handles, and disposes of hazardous waste and materials according to environmental standards and company processes.
    • Inventories and maintains alternate mission equipment
    Inventories and maintains aircraft equipment.

    • Use automated maintenance systems to monitor maintenance trends, analyze equipment requirements, maintain equipment records, document maintenance actions, and time change database.
    • Perform regular Foreign Object Damage (FOD) walks.
    • Maintain strict tool control procedures
    Report missing, lost, found, or unattended tools to the supervisor
    Inventory and inspect tools on a regular basis and replace worn or broken tools.

    • Comply with safety rules and regulations while performing day to day maintenance
    Promptly report all accidents, injuries, safety violations, and/or unsafe practices or procedures to supervisor.

    • Maintain equipment records
    Enter in the maintenance records description of the work performed and verify the work was performed satisfactorily.

    • The T-38 Aircraft Hydraulic Systems Specialists will be required to perform other related duties to meet the ongoing needs of the organization

    SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
    This position has the responsibility and authority to carry out assigned tasks

    KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES:

    • Highly knowledgeable in principles applying to T-38 electrical/electronic, and mechanical principles applying to aircraft hydraulic systems.
    • Extensive knowledge in troubleshooting, removing, repairing, overhauling, replacing, adjusting, and testing malfunctioning hydraulic components.
    • Highly proficient in T-38 aircraft safety and servicing processes.
    • Ability to read and interpret documents such as engineering drawings, technical documentation, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
    • Strong decision analysis and problem-solving skills
    Ability to draw conclusions and justify decisions
    Must be able to communicate issues to management.

    • Knowledgeable in Air Force supply procedures, and deficiency reporting procedures.
    • Intermediate computer skills specifically using Microsoft Office Suite
    Ability to learn additional computer skills or software programs
    Working knowledge of advanced software applications is preferred.

    • Ability to enter data accurately into databases and write routine reports and correspondence.
    • Interpersonal skills are necessary to work effectively and cooperatively with all levels of management and staff
    Will also routinely interact with other crew members.

    • Must possess effective oral and technical written communication skills to clearly communicate information to others.
    • Ability to use general office equipment such as fax, phone, copier, scanner, printers, etc.
    • Ability to follow processes.
    • Strong professional customer service skills, including active listening, prompt service and follow-up.
    • Ability to learn and understand corporate policies and procedures and how they relate to Yulista goals.
    • Ability to perform basic mathematical computations.
    • High degree of self-motivation and the ability to work independently.
    • Willingness to assist teammates in accomplishing task

    QUALIFICATIONS:

    • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
    • 8+ years of Aircraft Hydraulic System experience with fixed / rotary wing commercial, Government or DOD aircraft.
    • Previous Air Force Specialty Code 2A6X5 Aircraft Hydraulic Systems experience highly desirable.
    • Multi aspect aviation qualifications / certifications / disciplines and ability to train these skills a must.
    • Experience supporting DoD contracts.
    • Strong knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures within depot level maintenance.
    • Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Airplane and/or Powerplant certification a plus
    • Background in TCTO application a plus.
    • Must have the ability to obtain and maintain a Government Security Clearance
