Job Overview:

The Mid-Level Investment Funds Associate Attorney will be responsible for providing legal counsel on the establishment and representation of private investment funds and their advisers. This role requires strong analytical and writing skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively and independently. The successful candidate will have a J.D., be admitted to practice in Illinois, and possess relevant experience with AmLaw 100 law firms or the SEC.

Duties:

• Effectively communicate, verbally and in writing, with clients, lawyers, business professionals, and third parties.
• Produce deliverables, answer phone calls, and reply to correspondence efficiently and responsively.
• Provide timely, accurate, and quality work products.
• Successfully meet deadlines and expectations and perform work duties as required.
• Foster positive work relationships.
• Comply with all firm policies and practices.
• Engage in physical and sedentary activities, such as working at a computer for extended periods, participating in digital/virtual conference calls, and attending meetings as needed.
• Perform all other duties, tasks, or projects as assigned.

Requirements:

• 3-6 years of experience in legal practice.
• Experience with establishing and representing private investment funds and their advisers, including domestic and international private equity, real estate, venture capital, and hedge funds.
• Experience with Advisers Act regulatory matters, representing institutional investors in private funds, secondary transactions, and structuring carry vehicles is a plus.
• Strong analytical and writing skills.
• Good business judgment.
• Excellent organizational skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively and independently.

Education & Certifications:

• J.D. from an accredited law school.
• Admitted to practice in Illinois.
• Direct and applicable experience with AmLaw 100 law firms or the SEC.
