    Essential Functions:

    =Ten Essential Functions Referenced in EvaluationPerforms all duties and functions of paramedic job description, and in addition:Conducts him/herself in a highly ethical and professional manner at all times and serves as a role model for all employees
    Directs and supervises personnel on assigned shift to maintain quality of pre-hospital medical care.Reports to oncoming shift leader and/or staff all pertinent information for the daily operations of the organization
    Assists in interpreting and supporting Lutheran EMS policies and procedures to LEMS staff, patients, visitors, physicians, and other healthcare professionalsAssists in maintaining harmonious relationships between crews and shifts, physicians, and other healthcare professionals for good continuity of patient care
    Mentors and assists with orientation of and training of new personnel, observers and studentsIdentifies potential and actual problems within the operational and clinical aspects of the organization
    Completes follow-up on any occurrences or incidents during the shift.

    Administers assignment of shift "crew partners" for the day, and determines which ambulance and crew will be stationed at central and satellite base stationsAdheres to all policies and directives set forth by the Indiana Department of Homeland Security, Supervising Hospital, and other governing agencies, institutions, and regulatory bodies***Contributes to the Performance Improvement activities at Lutheran EMSAny other responsibilities as assigned by the EMS Director/Manager.

    Job Qualifications:
    Job qualifications of LEMS EMT-Paramedic job descriptionFive (5) years experience preferredExcellent communication skills
