POSITION SUMMARY We are pleased to offer the opportunity to work as a Wastewater Facilities Operator with the DuPage County Department of Public Works.

RESPONSIBILITIES Responsibilities include:
Ensures safe and efficient operation of plant equipment and machinery through proper operation, routine checks, and ongoing maintenanceDraws samples of water for laboratory tests and analysesNotes changes in effluent and takes corrective actionStarts and stops filter machinery and pumpsCleans filter machinery and removes sludge accumulationsAdds chemicals according to prescribed standardsReads gauges and transmits data to superiorPerforms routine chemical analyses of waterGeneral plant upkeep such as painting and grass cutting REQUIREMENTS INCLUDE Requirements include the following experience or equivalent combination of training and experience:Completion of a High School Diploma or General Equivalency Diploma equivalent, Completion of one high school level course in chemistryOne year of experience in a water treatment plant, pumping station, or sewage treatment plantA valid Illinois driver's licenseAn Illinois Class IV, or higher, Wastewater Operators CertificateA post offer physical is required.
