    Job Description

    The Senior Director of Technical Services is responsible for management and oversight of Mesa Airlines Technical Services, Engineering, Power-Plant functions, and has overall responsibility for the reliability of the fleet. responsible to the VP of Maintenance Engineering for developing, improving, and maintaining an organization that ensures maintenance is performed to the highest possible degree of workmanship and materials using the most efficient methods of inspection and engineering. Ensures compliance with Directives and Regulations of the Federal Aviation Administration. The Senior Director Technical Services is responsible for building a cohesive, highly motivated Team that is a mission oriented, disciplined in their approach, effective under pressure and committed to safety and compliance. Reviews projects and budgets, manages schedules, and prepares status reports. Continuously leads the efforts of cultivating a strong culture of safety across the organization.

    Requirements
    • 15 years of technical or air carrier experience in varying areas applicable to Technical Services
    • Airframe and Powerplant license (preferred)
    • Possess the qualification per [14 CFR a)] or have experience in applicable air carrier areas
    • In coordination with department manual owners, is responsible for the accuracy, compliance with federal regulations, and publication of Mesa Company and manufacturer's manuals.
    • Responsible for coordination of engineering orders to direct the modification of the aircraft or aircraft systems.
    • Responsible for developing heightened communication and elevated collaboration among all Maintenance Engineering departments and supporting Company departments.
    • Chair the Technical Review Committee, which analyzes Airworthiness Directives (ADs), Service Bulletins (SBs), Service Letters (SLs) to develop Fleet Campaign Directives (FCDs) or other engineering documentation to ensure compliance.
    • Responsible to ensure technical support is provided to Mesa Maintenance Department regarding the operation and repair of Mesa fleet of aircraft.
    • Responsible to ensure that engineering support is provided to Mesa Maintenance personnel.
    • Responsible for the monitoring, repair, and maintenance of Mesa engines and APU's.
    • Participate in the Continuing Analysis and Surveillance System (CASS) as a voting member and provide surveillance of components and or systems to address Reliability concerns.
    • Responsible for technical support of Mesa Maintenance Department to enhance troubleshooting procedures.
    • Ensures communication to all Maintenance Departments of the identification of chronic aircraft problems and the recommended courses of action and the status of repair or troubleshooting plans.
    • Assist the Vice President of Maintenance and Engineering with the preparation of the Maintenance department annual budget.
    • The Senior Director Technical Services may select a designee with full authority to carry out the duties of the Managing Director of Engineering and Reliability (except for matters concerning personnel) during the Director's absence.
    • Other duties as assigned.
