    Position OverviewUnder the general direction of the Controller, the

    Senior Cost Accountant

    participates in the preparation, analysis, and insight for inventory balances.

    Ensures accurate and timely close processes are in place and implements measures to identify all material transactions are appropriately recorded.

    This role also ensures that the company has seamless and accurate counting and reconciliation of physical inventory.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities include, but not limited to:


    Participate in physical inventory counting and reconciliationAssist in coordinate the timeliness, accuracy and completeness of period end close activities for inventory and related inventory reserves, including journal entries, account reconciliations and roll-forwards in accordance with reporting deadlines.

    Handle inventory transactions for plants and assist in transactions processed at plantIdentify damaged, returned or mis-ordered inventoryAssists in cycle count programCollaborate with Accounts Payable, Production, Operations, and Logistics departments to ensure accurate recording of inventory and related expensesProtect integrity of inventory by monitoring and enforcing internal controlsMonitor inventory accounting and related system reports for accuracy and completenessAssist with the financial audits and provide recommendations for procedural improvements to ensure accounting procedures and reporting conform to generally accepted accounting principlesPerform other ad hoc duties as requested


    Required Skills and Experience:


    Bachelor's Degree in accounting2 years of progressively responsible experience in Cost accountingManufacturing experience a mustMicrosoft 365 a plusStrong analytical, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skillsExtraordinary interpersonal skills to work in conjunction with other departments.

    Must be a team player who also works well independentlyMust be able to analyze data, draw conclusions, interpret results, and make recommendations.

    Advanced proficiency in ExcelProficient knowledge of Outlook and Word
