    Job Summary:

    My client is currently hiring a Senior Process Control Engineer to join their technology team. This person will contribute to the design, optimization, and implementation of robust controls systems, enabling efficient, reliable, and safe operations of new reactor systems. This person will also help provide support for upgrading/modifying and maintaining existing R&D, product, and plant assets. In doing so, this person will directly contribute towards the development of my clients revolutionary new technology and drive innovation and sustainability in the chemical manufacturing industry.

    Job Responsibilities:

    • Deliver all project objectives safely and achieve 100% compliance with safety requirements.
    • Responsible for controls hardware designs and software (logic, architecture & programming) for our reactor systems ranging from laboratory scale through to commercial products.
    • Participate in P&ID development, operability and hazard reviews and define control systems reliability, operability and availability plans as required.
    • Develop technical risk matrix, support reliability/availability studies, contribute to risk mitigation and project execution plans.
    • Develop & review control system designs, architecture, programming & integration specifications, and plans.
    • Develop and implement creative control strategies for prototype systems while conforming to rigorous industry safety standards.
    • Define specifications for controls and data acquisition equipment and software based on instrumentation, environmental and application requirements.
    • Configure new and modify existing PLCs and DCS
    • NI LabView experience is a must Siemens S7 or Emerson DeltaV is a plus
    • Provide support during the assembly and commissioning processes.
    • Interface with R&D, installation, operations, and third-party personnel for project support.
    • Implement and tune P&ID controllers.

    Minimum requirements:

    • Bachelors degree in a STEM field or equivalent work experience.
    • 5+ years of experience on industrial and/or laboratory control systems and components.
    • Demonstrated proficiency with LabVIEW and various communication protocols including RS-232, RS-485, MODBUS, etc.
    • Demonstrated expertise in process controls, PLC, automation, cause and effect matrices, interlocks design, PLC programming languages, and troubleshooting.
    • Polite persistence and collaboration skills to ensure on-time, high quality results.
    • Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills.
    • Flexibility and proven ability to excel in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

    Helpful Background:

    • Knowledge of common ladder logic PLC programming, specifically Siemens.
    • Knowledge of function block DCS programming, specifically DeltaV.
    • Proficient with interpreting electrical drawings.
    • Plant experience is a plus.
