    Job Description

    The Aircraft On Ground (AOG) Controller reports to the Manager of AOG and is responsible for the cost-effective, efficient procurement, and shipping of aircraft spares to meet the requirements of the Aircraft Maintenance Organizations in order minimize unscheduled ground time due to materials.

    Essential Functions:
    • Procures and ensures delivery of material to meet Aircraft on Ground (AOG) requirements in order to avoid the negative operational and fiscal impact from delays or cancellations resulting from parts.
    • Ensures that all materials procured meet Mesa Air Group and FAA standards for quality.
    • Coordinates MEL requirements with Maintenance control (MX), Tech desk, and MX FMU's in order to ensure parts are available for RON MX.
    • Seeks out and evaluates new sources of supply vendors to achieve cost reduction goals without jeopardizing quality or delivery.
    • Procures and processes material requisitions following Mesa Air Group purchasing procedures.
    • Alerts management to any irregularities of material requisitions and vendor improprieties.
    • Provides all required departments with current status of open requisitions and purchase orders.
    • Coordinates and communicates with Materials/Receiving Department on receipt of purchase orders; resolves any discrepancies with vendors on quantity, pricing, or documentation.
    • Performs any other duties as required or directed by the Director of Purchasing and Materials.
    • All duties/assignments assigned by the AOG Manager or the Director of Materials

    Requirements
    • Must have a High School Diploma or GED equivalent
    • Bachelor's Degree Preferred
    • At least one year of verifiable purchasing experience with the following;
    1. Certificated 145 Repair Station
    2. Certificated Part 121 Air Carrier
    3. Certified Part 135 Air Carrier
    • Or must have at least two (2) years of equivalent purchasing experience, and/or aviation industry materials warehouse experience.
    • Must be organized and detail orientated
    • Must have strong verbal and written communication skills
    • Must be able to work a flexible schedule
    • Strong Negotiation skills
    • Must be able to work in a fast-paced, high stressed, high demand environment
    *Equivalent education and experience will be considered.
