    Long-term goals include growing and nurturing a network of key donors, sponsors, and other unrestricted revenue securing $500,000 or more in annual contributions.

    Executive Director Position Summary:
    WIHA seeks a passionate, motivated fundraising professional to join our team.

    The Fund Development Director leads fundraising efforts and is responsible for creating and implementing strategic fundraising plans, cultivating relationships with major donors, and driving growth to support our programs and initiatives.

    The priority for this position will be securing unrestricted revenue to advance WIHA's mission.

    Long-term goals include growing and nurturing a network of key donors, sponsors, and other unrestricted revenue securing $500,000 or more in annual contributions.

    Position Responsibilities



    Fund Development:

    Donor Relations (65%)


    Design, implement, manage and evaluate WIHA's overall fundraising strategies collaborating closely with the Executive Director, Deputy Director, Board of Directors, staff and other stakeholders to leverage their networks and engage them in fundraising efforts.

    Manage fundraising campaigns; organize and coordinate the activities of staff, board, and committees engaged in fundraising efforts.

    Build, manage and nurture a portfolio of prospects (from low-level contributors to major gift prospects); identify and cultivate relationships with donors through personalized engagement strategies to provide a diverse and sustainable funding base.

    Develop compelling and persuasive proposals and solicitation materials using WIHA's stories as a means to effectively communicate the impact of WIHA's work and secure new donors.

    Manage a donor database, ensuring the integrity and accuracy of constituent information to support timely outreach and communication. Track interactions and ensure accurate reporting.
    Stay informed about industry trends and policy changes to effectively articulate tax implications for contributions.

    Seek opportunities to spread the WIHA message by attending fundraising events, conferences, and industry gatherings to network, represent the organization, and identify donor prospects.

    Work with WIHA team to develop, plan, and execute special events.

    Fund Development:

    Public & Private Grants (15%)

    Work with WIHA Executive Director and Deputy Director to identify grant opportunities and determine feasibility of grant projects based on alignment with mission and staff capacity.

    Coordinate the activities of the grant development team which may include writing, budget development and other application requirements to ensure timely completion of grant submissions.

    ii. Assist in managing grants received for fiscal accountability in coordination with the Deputy Director.

    Marketing, Communications & Public Relations (15%)

    Work with the Executive Director and Deputy Director to shape and carrying out WIHA's marketing, communications, and public relations strategy and media relations for maximum positive visibility.



    Fund Development:

    Liaison (5%)


    Collaborates with the Executive Director, Deputy Director and Board of Directors for long-term goal development and strategic planning with a focus on long-term sustainability.

    Experience

    Minimum 5 years' experience in fundraising with a track record of securing major gifts, grants, and corporate sponsorships.
    Strong understanding of the nonprofit sector or aging network, including knowledge of current trends, policies, and industry players.
    Demonstrated experience securing grant funding including writing and coordinating the submission of grant applications.
    Excellent relationship-building and communication skills, with the ability to engage and inspire donors and prospects.
    Demonstrated ability to develop and execute successful fundraising strategies including prospect research, donor cultivation, and solicitation.
    Experience utilizing CRM systems, donor management software, and other fundraising tools to manage donor relationships and track fundraising activities.
    Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with diverse membership, stakeholders, board members, staff, and volunteers.

    Education Bachelor's degree is preferred, though relevant experience may be considered in lieu of a degree Licenses or Certifications Valid Wisconsin driver's license Level of Supervision Must be able to work independently with general guidance.

    A high level of autonomy is required. Work With Others This position works closely with the Executive Director, Deputy Director, staff, partners, and Board of Directors.

    Location of Work This position is remote with some travel required for in-person team, partner and other meetings as needed.

    Most travel is in Wisconsin; however, there may be occasional out-of-state travel.

    May live anywhere in the state of Wisconsin with the ability to be in the office in Madison as needed.

    Compensation & Benefits Salary minimum - $65,000 Annually. Higher compensation may be considered based on experience and qualifications.
