    Inventory Specialist

    The Inventory Specialist is responsible for the inventory control of all medical supplies and equipment as well as maintaining appropriate levels of inventory. Also responsible for organizations inventory, ordering and supplying necessary items while maintaining accurate records of all procurements and accuracy of quantities and locations of all inventory in the EMR system.

    Job Duties:

    • Manage Home Medical Equipment (HME) inventory within region to meet Cost of Goods budget
    • Ensure HME inventory ordering and processing procedures are followed and maintained in accordance with established policies and procedures
    • Manages inventory in the AdaptHealth EMR to ensure PAR levels are maintained and inventory locations are reflected correctly in the system.
    • Enters new PAR levels and locations in the EMR, troubleshoots supply issues and system discrepancies
    • Interacts with Warehouse Techs to assure PAR levels, shelf locations, and process flows are maintained and meet the operational needs and the individual warehouses.
    • Verifies shipments received by entering items into ReQLogic daily to close open purchase orders
    • Maintains consistent stock of inventory, ordering new stock up to pre-authorized limit as inventory dwindles.
    • Establishes and maintains backup source for high-demand items.
    • Assesses inventory reports and order patterns to identify items in need of automatic, recurring delivery.
    • Provides inventory usage reports to purchasing and manager.
    • Develops and maintains good working relationships with vendors and regional warehouse managers.
    • Maintains accurate daily records of inventory distributed to regional warehouses.
    • Manages and maintains inventory system; facilitates upgrades to related database and/or software under the direction of the purchasing or manager.
    • Conducts frequent spot and partial audits of physical inventory.
    • Assists with quarterly inventory counts and audits.
    • Assures FIFO rules are being followed by completing monthly audits
    • Assures warehouse and inventory 5S rules are being followed by completing monthly audits
    • Accesses and distributes management reports related to inventory control and shipping data
    • Responsible for identifying new products and facilitating communication of relevant information to Warehouse Techs.
    • Responsible for maintaining and updating rotation out plan for old products to prevent product expiration.
    • Responsible for maintaining open communication lines with leadership on stock levels and other pertinent information.
    • Responsible for maintaining and updating all relevant forms and paperwork involved in the shipping and receiving of inventory. Works directly with purchasing to ensure ReQLogic open PO report is up to date.
    • Receives, sorts, and inspects all incoming stock.
    • Shelves all incoming stock maintaining item locations and organization. Identifying opportunities to reinforce and reeducate warehouse techs on FIFO principles.,
    • Retain knowledge of and consistently adhere to procedures for the use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), infection control and hazardous materials handling.

    Requirements

    Minimum Job Qualifications:
    • High school diploma or equivalent
    • Five (5) years of inventory control experience with a similar sized company required
    • Valid and unrestricted driver's license in the state of residence
    • Previous experience with medical supplies is preferred.
    • Exact job experience considered is inventory management in Health care or HME.
