Payroll Supervisor (Certified with CCP)

Overview:

We are seeking a skilled and certified Payroll Supervisor with a Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) certification to join our team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in payroll administration, strong leadership skills, and a meticulous attention to detail. The ideal candidate will need to have extensive knowledge in the KRONOS system. As a Payroll Supervisor, you will oversee all aspects of payroll processing, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timeliness. Your expertise will be crucial in maintaining payroll records, managing payroll staff, and implementing best practices to optimize payroll operations.

Responsibilities:

Payroll Processing: Oversee the end-to-end payroll process, including data entry, calculations, and distribution of payments.

Compliance: Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations governing payroll processes, taxes, and reporting requirements.

Supervision: Manage a team of payroll administrators, providing guidance, training, and support to ensure accuracy and efficiency in daily operations.

Quality Assurance: Review payroll data and reports for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with established policies and procedures.

Problem Resolution: Investigate and resolve payroll discrepancies and issues in a timely manner, collaborating with internal departments and external vendors as needed.

Reporting: Generate and analyze payroll reports to provide insights into trends, costs, and variances, supporting informed decision-making by management.

Audits: Coordinate and participate in internal and external payroll audits, providing documentation and explanations as required.

Process Improvement: Identify opportunities to streamline payroll processes, enhance system functionality, and improve efficiency while maintaining accuracy and compliance.

Communication: Communicate payroll-related information, updates, and changes to employees, management, and other stakeholders as necessary.

Continuous Learning: Stay informed about changes in payroll laws, regulations, and best practices, participating in professional development opportunities to maintain CCP certification and enhance expertise.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field preferred.

Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) certification required.

Minimum of 5 years of experience in payroll administration, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role.

Proficiency in payroll software: KRONOS

Strong understanding of payroll regulations, tax laws, HR law and compliance requirements.

Excellent analytical skills with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.

Effective leadership abilities with experience in managing and developing payroll staff.

Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.

Ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and adapt to changing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
