    Responsibilities

    Salt Lake Behavioral Health is seeking a passionate and talented INTERN THERAPIST.

Salt Lake Behavioral Health is a private 118 bed freestanding psychiatric hospital, located in Salt Lake City, specializing in mental health and substance abuse treatment for adults.

    The Intern Therapist performs social services functions to include assisting patients in meeting their biopsychosocial needs while enabling them to access therapeutic treatment skills to achieve their optimal level of emotional health, including providing basic consultation, teaching, complete specialized clinical social work services for patients/families receiving care, crisis intervention, short-term and long-term family therapy, and providing information and referrals as needed. This position works closely with licensed therapy staff.

    Qualifications

    Position Requirements:

    Education: Currently enrolled in practicum or internship coursework in a Master's Degree program from an accredited college or university, in Social Work or a clinical related mental health field required.

    Experience: Experience in a behavioral health care facility, with direct patient care, crisis intervention, and treatment skills is preferred.

    License: Not required however the Intern Therapist must have achievable plans to obtain a CSW, ACMHC, or AMFT with the state of Utah within one year of hire is required.

    Additional Requirements: CPR certification is required. You will need to successfully complete our current training for restraints and seclusions. This training will need to be done prior to assisting in any patient restraints or seclusions and within 30 days of the start of your internship.
