    Join Our Dynamic Healthcare Team as a Locum - Physician - Gastroenterology in Mechanicsville, VA
    Are you an experienced gastroenterologist looking to make a meaningful impact while enjoying flexible scheduling? We are seeking a highly skilled Locum Physician in Gastroenterology to provide exceptional care at a reputable healthcare facility. This is an outstanding opportunity to contribute to patient health in a hospital setting, with the flexibility to choose from available dates throughout the year.
    Required Skills:
    • Medical degree (MD or DO) with active medical license in Virginia
    • Board-certified or Board-eligible in Gastroenterology
    • Proven expertise in performing complex procedures including esophageal dilatation, manometry, endoscopy, ERCP, and liver biopsies
    • Proficient in interpreting esophageal manometry and endoscopic ultrasound
    • Excellent clinical judgment and patient management skills
    • Strong communication and teamwork abilities
    • Experience with Epic EMR systems
    Nice to Have Skills:
    • Prior experience in hospital call settings
    • Ability to handle high-volume procedures ( 8 per week)
    • Familiarity with managing Sengstaken/Blakemore tubes
    Preferred Education and Experience:
    • MD or DO degree from an accredited medical school
    • Completion of fellowship in Gastroenterology
    • Minimum of 2 years of clinical experience in a hospital or outpatient setting
    Other Requirements:
    • Credentialing timeframe approximately 90 days
    • Willingness to work 24-hour call shifts, including holiday coverage
    • Valid certifications in ACLS and BLS
    • Travel and licensure reimbursement available where applicable
