    Description
    Summary You will serve as a FIRE CHIEF in the FIRE DIVISION of NAVAL AIR STATION. Responsibilities You will be technically and administratively responsible for the operation and supervision of the Fire Division. You will develop a continual fire prevention or fire protection training program for serviced activities. You will implement a risk management plan in accordance with fire and emergency regulations. You will manage operating expenditures (e.g., staffing requirements, new or replacement of equipment, budget) for a fire department. You will inform senior leaders on performance, progress, training needs, or disciplinary actions of crew members.

    Therefore, we encourage you to be clear and specific when describing your experience. Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector performing the following duties: 1) Managing a Fire & Emergency Services program; 2) Providing assistance, advice, and recommendations concerning fire protection/prevention; 3) Administering a fire and emergency services budget; 4) Reviewing reports, records, codes, and procedures to make suggestions on improvements to firefighting techniques and /or policies


    NOTE:

    This position requires possession of the following certifications: 1) Firefighter I and II, 2) Airport Firefighter, 3) HAZMAT Technician, 4) HAZMAT IC, 5) Fire Officer IV, 6) Fire Inspector II, and 7) Fire Instructor II. These certifications must have been awarded by DoD, IFSAC or ProBoard to meet the requirement

    PPP applicants will be placed at the FPL, if determined Well Qualified (WQ). To receive priority consideration, the FPL must be the same grade level or equivalent of the retained grade or the grade held immediately prior to separation.
