- Maintains, repairs, and modifies aircraft structures and structural components of moderate difficulty.
- Maintains and repairs aircraft components, including but not limited to flight controls, engines, hydraulics, pneumatics, fuel systems, and mechanical components.
- Applies technical knowledge of airframe and power plant systems in determining equipment malfunctions and applies required expertise in restoring equipment condition and operation.
- Applies comprehensive technical expertise to solve moderate to complex problems by interpreting technical documentation such as blueprints or manufacturer's manuals.
- Must have a thorough knowledge of aircraft repair procedures and parts replacement, which requires a broad understanding of aircraft sheet metal/structural modifications and repair.
- Must have a thorough knowledge of aircraft's unique tools such as test equipment, torque wrenches, dial indicators, micrometers, sheet metal brakes, and sheers.
- Working knowledge of technical publications.
- As required, the incumbent receives technical guidance from a supervisor or higher-level technician, will occasionally be required to lead teams through more complex aircraft-relevant tasks, and may be required to make entries in aircraft logs and records.
- Must be able to prioritize workload to maintain schedules on assigned projects.
- Perform close tolerance drilling, reaming, removal, and installation to critical support structures and fracture critical areas.
- Locate blind holes necessary for installation of new structural items to existing structure.
- Perform efforts associated with sealing, painting, shimming, and preserving structure by standard repair processes.
- Demonstrates the ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, technical orders, process specifications, and retrofit requirements to perform structural modification/repair.
- Ability to proficiently access and manipulate computer systems daily for work instructions, drawings, and training
- Use tooling assemblies and fixtures for depot-level modification and repair of structural parts.
- Applies professional technical expertise and guidance to solve complex problems by interpreting technical data such as blueprints or manufacturer's manuals.
- Work typically requires a thoroughly comprehensive knowledge of aircraft mechanical component troubleshooting/repair procedures and replacement of components, a thorough knowledge of aircraft sheet metal/structural modification and repair, and the ability to determine the functionality of non-complex electrical systems.
- A detailed knowledge of aircraft unique tools such as test equipment, torque wrenches, dial indicators, micrometers, cable tensiometers, sheet metal brakes, and sheers, etc., is required.
- You must access aircraft data via computer systems and initiate online parts and discrepancy requests.
- Responsible for providing guidance and technical expertise to lower-level technicians throughout all aircraft modifications or maintenance efforts.
- Operate a forklift and mobile crane and ride electric-powered elevating equipment to accomplish work assignments.
- Maintain necessary certifications, licenses, and permits as required for assigned work.
- Must be able to work various shifts or an alternate baseline schedule that may frequently change to support mission requirements, including weekends and holidays.
- Mission requirements or workload may require both scheduled and unscheduled overtime.
- High school or GED
- 4+ years of experience in those duties as previously described for satisfactory performance.

- Demonstrate experience in close tolerance drilling, reaming, removal, and installation of critical support structures, including doublers, triplers, seat tracks, planks, stringers, etc.
- The ability to obtain customer approval for aircraft access, for which Dual citizenship or prior citizenship of any other country may preclude the ability to obtain access.
- Knowledgeable in shop mathematics and practices
- Experience with schematics, specifications, assembly drawings, and standard operating procedures.
- Proficient in computer skills, including but not limited to aircraft-related systems and essential office software.
- This position will require the ability to obtain customer approval for access.

- A 3rd party background check relating to personal and business finances, residences, employment history, past drug use, prior military service, and criminal behavior will be conducted.
- The candidate must be able to ascend and descend vertical work ladders, work in confined spaces, and lift loads of approximately 35 pounds.
