    Job Description

    The Senior Mechanical Integrity Engineer plays a crucial role in enhancing the Mechanical Integrity Program at the Charleston site. Responsibilities include program development, strategic planning, and technical support, overseeing the site inspection team, and ensuring compliance with relevant regulations. This role reports to the Corporate Engineering Manager and collaborates closely with EHSS, Maintenance, and Engineering groups at the site.

    • Develop, Implement, and Enhance:
      • Create and refine strategies for the Mechanical Integrity and RBI programs, outlining inspection methods, frequencies, and relevant codes and standards.
    • Provide Direction and Support:
      • Offer guidance to supervisors in Mechanical Integrity and Quality Assurance & Control, act as a liaison with external entities, and lead the development of inspection teams.
    • Ensure Compliance and Mitigation:
      • Address equipment risks promptly, communicate findings, and prioritize corrective actions to sustain operational uptime.
    • Budgeting and Resource Monitoring:
      • Monitor OPEX and CAPEX budgets to facilitate scheduled inspections and ensure adequate allocation of resources.
    • Technical Expertise and Management:
      • Provide technical and project management support for equipment inspections, testing, and repairs, collaborating with various teams.
    • Regulatory Compliance and Representation:
      • Engage with external authorities regarding Mechanical Integrity, ensuring adherence to all relevant regulations.
    • Requirements:
      • Bachelor's Degree in an engineering discipline, with significant experience in fixed equipment inspection and team management.
      • Relevant certifications such as NCEES EIT, API 510, 570, or 653, and familiarity with industry standards.
      • Knowledge of federal and state regulations, corrosion issues, and inspection best practices.
    • Skills and Attributes:
      • Strong leadership, communication, and work ethic, with a focus on safety and program improvement.
    • Additional Responsibilities:
      • Participate in safety reviews, audits, and program enhancements, identifying improvement opportunities.
    • Support and Communication:
      • Aid in upset conditions, maintain KPIs, and ensure compliance with regulatory changes.
