    Description

    What would I be doing?:

    Located just east of downtown Kansas City, Ameristar Casino Hotel Kansas City is a Midwestern entertainment hub that offers something for everyone. Ameristar has one of the largest casino floors in Missouri, amazing dining venues, a newly renovated luxury hotel and more. Ameristar also offers convenient parking in a five-level, 2,660 space parking structure with an enclosed, climate-controlled walkway to the casino and entertainment center. Ameristar is seeking a Heavy Duty Porter who will be responsible for the overall cleanliness of common areas, the casino floor, restrooms, and restaurants.

    Responsibilities:
    • Lead, train and develop required heavy duty cleaning skills
    • Display solid understanding of all cleaning equipment and use of related cleaning chemicals
    • Walk the entire casino and building complex, public areas inspecting and demonstrating procedures
    • Communicate effectively in writing and verbally with all guests and team members and
    • Follow through on all projects completed and/or scheduled
    • Know cleaning supplies available and how to use them properly
    • Have working knowledge of equipment and be able to demonstrate its proper operation to others
    • Attend shift and departmental meetings
    • Follow Company and departmental policies and procedures
    • Follow established key, radio and chemical procedures
    • Follow and enforce safety and lost and found procedures and guidelines for energy conservation

    • Understand and comply with all Company and departmental rules and regulations, policies and procedures
    • Skilled in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with staff and management
    • Ability to read, write and communicate verbally in English
    • This is a uniformed position, which requires that team members are in compliance with uniformed appearance standards while on duty

    Required Behaviors

    • Ability to work in a fast paced 24/7 environment
    • Engage in good safety practices
    • Available to work nights, weekends and holidays

    Required Education and Work Experience

    • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
