The Computational Software Engineer will be part of a multidisciplinary team of professionals who design and develop mechanistic computational models of complex biological systems to support our clients.
The ideal candidate is an experienced full-stack developer with interests in both user-interface development and backend software engineering who will collaborate on our Thales biosimulation platform for next-generation drug-development.

Job Responsibilities:
Develop, maintain, and extend web-based user interfaces for running simulations and visualizing output from a biological modeling software platform
Develop, maintain, and extend backend simulation infrastructure code for our simulation platform
Work with scientific user-base and architects to solicit and implement new features to improve efficiency and user experience
Analyze algorithm performance and optimize code for computational efficiency
Responsible for all aspects of software process: design, prototyping, debugging, testing, etc.
Helping end-users troubleshoot problems
Contribute to documentation process
Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
8+ years professional software development experience
Strong experience with frontend professional web development experience
Extensive knowledge of JavaScript, REST APIs, HTML, CSS
Proficient in Python, relational databases, and some web UI frameworks (e.g. Angular, React, etc.)
Server-side experience with Django development is a plus
Experience working in scientific/technical domains is a plus
Background in algorithms, data structures, and software engineering principles
Commitment to writing elegant, reliable, robust software
Solid object-oriented design skills, testing, and debugging skills
Strong interest in mathematics and biology is a plus
Eagerness to work in a team-oriented environment
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Education:
Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field
Master's or PhD in computer science or related field a plus
