Collaborates with the supervising psychiatrist regarding findings and recommendations of treatment.
Provides teaching and counseling to select patients and families.
Collaborates in the review of educational materials.

Utilizes, participates in, and disseminates research to enhance evidence-based practice.
Promotes research-based practice in the provision of nursing care.
Provides a comprehensive evaluation of the patient's current status, past psychiatric history, and mental status.
Consistently guides staff in professional development and acts as a mentor.
Actively participates in Performance Improvement initiatives.
Provides direct patient care as needed.
Demonstrates skills and knowledge necessary to provide coordination and continuity of care appropriate to adolescent, neonatal, and adult patients. This includes knowledge of growth and development, the ability to obtain and interpret information to identify patient needs, and to provide the care needed.
Performs assigned work safely, adhering to established departmental safety rules and practices; reports to supervisor promptly any unsafe activities, conditions, hazards, or safety violations that may cause injury to oneself, other employees, patients, and visitors.

Active Delaware RN Licensure or compact state license required.
Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS) license in the state of Delaware required.
Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) as a clinical nurse specialist required.
Professional Certification Required (Medical-Surgical Certification preferred).
At least five years of relevant clinical nursing experience in an inpatient hospital setting preferred.
Candidates must know the nursing process, research design, and possess the ability to engage with leadership, teaching, group dynamics, problem-solving, system coordination, and staff development
BLS certification required.
CNS Students with expected graduation date within 15 months are encouraged to apply.
