Job Description:
The Park Ranger at Danforth Bay Camping Resort has responsibility to ensure the ability for all guests to enjoy their stay safely, without negatively impacting others, while adhering to the property's rules and guidelines, in support of the resorts culture and standard by regularly patrolling the grounds and proactively creating positive relationships with all guests.
Starting rate of pay:
$18.00 / hour
Responsibilities Include:
Enforce rules, respond to areas of concern, and ensure the safety of our guests, in a positive manner and with a positive tone.
Verbally follow-up with Park Ranger Supervisor regarding situations, in addition to filling out all necessary documents.
Function as a part of a cohesive Park Ranger team with a focused mission.
Patrol of the grounds including but not limited to, all sites, pools, beaches, and bathhouses.
Ensure that all buildings are secured when appropriate.
Routinely check resort amenities for unregistered guests.
Assist with keeping up appearances of the park, including tasks such as emptying and picking up trash.
Some light maintenance work is required during slow times.
Secure pool area at designated time, empty trash and organize furniture at pool closing.
Watch weather patterns and respond to maintaining park entrance and safety during severe weather.
Assisting with guest needs according to the policies and procedures.
Report any damaged property or maintenance issues to the office, supervisor and/or GM/AGMs.
Fill out daily logs consistently, ensuring all important details are included in reports.
Night Shifts:
Fill out daily fire/quiet time log on and report any issues to supervisors/GM/AGMs in a timely manner so they may follow-up with guest.
Work with guests to ensure quiet time is followed and all campfires/coals are extinguished by the designated time, while maintaining a positive relationship with the guest.
Day Shifts:
May be involved in traffic control at park entrance during heavy check in times and events.
Smile, wave and chat with guests, while patrolling park continuously, as well as observing any early behaviors that could be precursors for later issues.
Regularly participates in internal communication methods such as huddles, recaps, weekly meetings, emails, etc.Monitor regularly proper display of vehicle passes, golf cart tags, and boat tags, ensuring all are registered.
Welcome and assist after-hour camper arrivals, ensuring minimal disruption to guests already in the park.
Cleans and prepares rental golf carts for guest pick up.
Signs out golf carts with the guest ensuring that the guest understands all the rules and any previous damage on the golf cart is reported appropriately.
Checks in golf carts with the guest and ensures that any damage caused by the guest is reported immediately to the GM/AGMs.
Performs other duties as assigned (ie. posting notices).Reports and is accountable to Park Ranger Supervisor.

Qualifications:
Basic computer skills.
Valid driver's license required.
Education- high school; GED; technical/trade school; apprenticeship.
Reach/squat/bend/carry/push/pull/lift up to 25 lbs.
Must be able to stand/drive a golf cart for extended periods of time.
Flexibility with schedule required, including the ability to work some days or evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Dependable and adheres to scheduled shifts.
Problem solving skills as well as excellent communication and customer service required with staff and guests.
Excellent verbal communication and interpersonal skills to interact with other employees and guests.
Ability to work outdoors during a variety of weather conditions, including severe weather events.
Strong attention to detail, speed, and accuracy.
Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment.
Must pay attention to detail in order to accurately and consistently fill out daily shift logs, including details and specifics of any incidents, accidents or important pass-a-long information.
Must remain current on established policies and procedures, following proper protocols.Ability to assess a situation, use quick and reasonable judgment and resolve problems diplomatically.
Ability to remain calm and objective in stressful situations.
Strong work ethic, commitment, and a positive attitude.
Ability to maintain guest and employee confidentiality.
