    Responsibilities


    We're looking for a self motivating, skilled individual capable of problem isolation, root cause identification, systems analysis, and other administrative/engineering tasks in a Red Hat Linux environment.

    As part of a small team of engineers, you will participate in supporting and enhancing the underlying systems for the AWIPS platforms via deployment of new system configurations, working with new tools, participation in agile scrums and operational field support.

    You will engage in support efforts and system configuration such as system provisioning and setup, security patching, configuration management and system hardening.

    Other duties may include system support services for other areas of the SDLC team, performance monitoring and data analysis, investigation into tools and/or processes which could be utilized to improve efficiency of routine tasks and increase reliability and velocity of system maintenance both in the lab and in the field.

    You will enjoy the chance of working with emerging technologies like Ansible Tower, puppet, and others while helping with virtualization and container integration.

    Qualifications


    Required Skills:
    ·

    At least 4 years experience in system setup and administration within a Red Hat Linux environment
    ·

    Experience with scripting and actively writing/modifying scripts to improve monitoring or deployment (Python or bash shell).
    ·

    Ability to troubleshoot, debug and root cause to the lowest common denominator
    ·

    Excellent written and oral communication skills
    ·

    Ability to obtain a US Public Trust (NACI)

    Desired Skills:
    ·

    Experience with TCP/IP networking (DNS, DHCP, etc.)
    ·

    Experience with Red Hat Satellite 6
    ·

    Experience writing and managing puppet modules through Red Hat Satellite
    ·

    Experience with Ansible or Ansible Tower
    ·

    Experience with Red Hat IdM product
    ·

    Experience provisioning virtual machines on a KVM hypervisor. Experience with RHEV a plus.
    ·

    Experience with AIDE, ArcSight, sar, SELinux, and firewalld
    ·

    Experience with provisioning bare metal servers through kickstart.
    ·

    Experience setting up or maintaining a GIT environment.

    Required Education (including Major):
    ·

    BA/BS degree in Computer Science or related technical field involving coding (e.g., physics or mathematics)
