    Nature of Work

    Under limited supervision, assists in the analysis, design, development, installation, and support of business information systems to ensure that customer needs and agency goals are met.

    • Communicate with Federal/State/ Agencies, Auditors, 3rd Party Vendors and customers.
    • Analyzing their requests and/or needs, so as to design, develop, test, implement, and maintain complex computer programs and/or systems.
    • Ensure data transfers with other state agencies and/or parties occur in a timely manner.
    • Design, develop, modify, test and implement, and maintain complex computer programs and systems in BATCH, ONLINE, and WEB environments. Also, work with applications database administrators or other programming staff to troubleshoot/fix problems.
    • Evaluate/recommend new system software or tools; work with agency users to test system enhancements or new implementations. Prepare system documentation and user training materials as requested by management. Assist in training staff.
    • Attend meetings, training, conferences, seminars, and/or webinars as requested by management.
    • Participate as a project lead as needed and assign tasks. Provide input on personnel actions.

    Minimum Requirements

    Training: Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in computer science or related field including but not limited to business data programming, business systems analysis, computer accounting, computer and information systems, computer servicing technologies, information systems management, data processing, or computer engineering.

    OR

    An Associate's degree from an accredited college, university or business school in computer science or related field including but not limited to business data programming, business systems analysis, computer accounting, computer and information systems, computer servicing technologies, information systems management, data processing, or computer engineering and eighteen months of full-time or equivalent part-time paid computer programming experience in one or more programming or data base languages.

    Substitution: Three years of full-time or equivalent part-time paid computer programming experience in one or more programming or data base languages may substitute for the required training.

    Experience: Two years of full-time or equivalent part-time paid computer programming experience in one or more programming or data base languages, including one year of analysis work.
