    Job Summary

    A

    Level II Adult Trauma Center , is seeking a high-acuity RN for its specialized

    5 North unit . This 16-bed unit functions as a Respiratory Care Step-Down, managing patients with complex pulmonary needs. The unit culture is built on strong teamwork and interdisciplinary support, particularly for patients transitioning from critical care.

    Key Responsibilities


    Respiratory Step-Down Care:
    Manage high-acuity patients on

    Ventilators, BiPAP, and High-Flow O2 .

    Specialized Interventions:
    Provide expert care for patients with

    Chest Tubes , chronic pneumonia, acute respiratory failure, and COPD exacerbations.

    Mixed Acuity Management:
    Treat a diverse population including those with

    Sepsis, CHF, and DKA

    (Diabetic Ketoacidosis).

    High-Acuity Med-Surg:
    Maintain safe ratios of

    4:5 (rarely 6)

    while performing continuous clinical assessments and interventions.

    Flexible Support:
    Be prepared to float to Concord Hospital's regional campuses in

    Laconia

    or

    Franklin

    based on system needs.
    Requirements & Qualifications


    Experience:
    Minimum

    1–2 years

    of Med-Surg experience. Critical Care (ICU/PCU) RNs are highly encouraged to apply if comfortable with Med-Surg ratios.

    Licensure:
    Active

    New Hampshire State RN License

    or a

    Multi-State Compact License

    is required at the time of submission.

    Certifications:

    BLS
    (AHA)
    • Required.

    NIHSS

    • Required prior to start.

    ACLS

    • Strongly preferred.

    Technical Skills:
    Cerner

    EMR experience is preferred but not required.

    Dysrhythmia Proficiency:
    Must pass a dysrhythmia exam during onboarding with a preferred score of

    80% or higher .

    Unit Size:
    16 Beds.

    Ratios:
    Typically 1:4 or 1:5; occasionally 1:6 during peak census.

    Travelers:
    First-time travelers are accepted.

    On-Call:
    No on-call requirement.

    Location:

    Overtime:
    Weekly OT after 40 hours; Daily OT after 24 hours (based on differentials).
