    Cath Lab Technologist Job Description

    Job Summary

    Magnet Medical is seeking a travel Cath Lab Technologist for a 20-week assignment in Saint Louis, Missouri. The ideal candidate will have experience working in a cardiac catheterization lab and be able to prepare and maintain equipment, assist with procedures, and ensure patient safety.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Pre-Procedure Preparation: Prepare the cath lab environment by ensuring all necessary equipment and tools are sterile and functional.
    • Verify Patient Information: Verify patient information, including medical history, allergies, and consent forms, before the procedure begins.
    • Assist with Procedures: Assist cardiologists and other physicians during cardiac catheterization, angioplasty, stent placement, electrophysiological studies, and other interventional procedures.
    • Monitor Vital Signs: Monitor vital signs (e.g., heart rate, blood pressure, oxygen saturation) during procedures and report any abnormalities to the physician.

    Post-Procedure Care

    • Monitor Patients: Monitor patients for immediate complications after the procedure, such as bleeding, changes in vital signs, or signs of infection.
    • Provide Post-Procedure Instructions: Provide post-procedure instructions to patients and their families, including advice on post-operative care, activity restrictions, and follow-up appointments.

    Equipment Management and Maintenance

    • Maintain Equipment: Maintain, clean, and sterilize the cath lab equipment and instruments, ensuring they are functioning properly and ready for the next procedure.
    • Troubleshoot Equipment: Regularly check and troubleshoot cath lab machinery, including X-ray equipment, electrocardiograms (EKG), defibrillators, and patient monitors.

    Estimated Salary: $100-$150 per hour based on 40 hours per week (subject to confirmation)
