We are currently seeking Physical Security Specialists to work with one of our clients in Alexandria, VA

Position:
Physical Security Specialist


Salary:
Depends on experience.

Investigation:
Active Top Secret (T5) Clearance, with SCI eligibility.

Period of Performance:
one year and four option years.
Place of Performance: 100% onsite in Alexandria, VA
Requirements

• Minimum of four (4) years' experience in the security functional area
• Bachelor's degree from an accredited university, or, 5 additional years of relevant experience with an associate degree, or, 7 additional years of relevant experience with no degree
• At least five (5) years combined OSD, Joint Staff, or Service-level security experience
• Experience with handling classified correspondence and proficiency in Microsoft Office suite tools
• Demonstrated subject matter knowledge of DoD, intelligence community, and national-level physical security policies and procedures
• Completed security training from the CSA CDSE within the past three (3) years
• Familiarity with the latest policies, processes, and procedures for the security discipline hired
• Local travel will be required with this position (within 100 miles)

Key Responsibilities:

• Responsible for the implementation and management of physical security measures to protect personnel, facilities, and sensitive information

This role requires a proactive individual with a high level of attention to detail and a strong understanding of the latest security policies and procedures

• Develop, implement, and oversee physical security programs and policies
• Conduct security risk assessments and recommend mitigation strategies
• Manage access control systems and procedures
• Coordinate with other security personnel to ensure the protection of classified information
• Provide security guidance and support to staff and management
• Stay current with physical security best practices and technological advancements
• Assess managed and supported facilities and locations for compliance with physical security guidance and directives, identifying vulnerabilities
• Develop and prepare written reports of physical security assessments, recommending mitigation techniques and actions
• Develop and prepare physical security accreditation documentation in accordance with DoD accreditation authority's requirements
• Develop and maintain physical security inspection checklists and draft and process technical security countermeasures requests
• Administer entry access and access management systems, coordinate with PFPA, and assist in the resolution of physical security incidents
• Manage physical security data, ensuring accuracy and currency of facility security status, vulnerabilities, accreditations, and SCIF requirements
• Assess and ensure proper functioning of facility and security container locking devices, changing combinations as required
• Conduct physical security planning, design, advice, and assistance for government /contractor facilities
• Submit monthly reports summarizing accomplishments and mission constraints to the on-site team lead
