- Operate specialized ventilators in critical and non-critical care settings
- Provide medication treatments and therapies per physician order
- Clean, maintain, and troubleshoot equipment
- Educate and instruct patients on therapy and disease management
- Facilitate clinical problem-solving and collaborate with other departments
- Demonstrate effective communication and promote a culture of safety
- Teach and precept new team members
- Ensure care appropriate to patients' age-specific needs
- Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) license
- Active Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential
- Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification
- Additional site-specific requirements
- Graduate from an accredited respiratory care program
- No prior experience necessary
- Organizational, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills
- Proficient computer skills and excellent communication
- Human relation skills and collaboration with others
- Time management skills in a fast-paced environment
