- Perform a variety of hematological tests including complete blood counts (CBCs), blood smears, coagulation tests, and other specialized tests as required.
- Operate and maintain laboratory equipment related to hematology testing, ensuring accuracy and precision in test results.
- Analyze test results, interpret findings, and generate accurate reports for healthcare providers.
- Maintain meticulous records of laboratory procedures, test results, and quality control measures.
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory guidelines and standards related to clinical laboratory practices.
- Collaborate with other laboratory staff, healthcare professionals, and researchers as needed.
- Participate in continuous education and training programs to stay updated on advancements in hematology and laboratory technology.
- Bachelor's degree in Medical Laboratory Science, Clinical Laboratory Science, or a related field.
- Current Clinical Laboratory Scientist license in the state of Florida, with a specialty in Hematology.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience working in a clinical laboratory setting, with a focus on hematology.
- Proficiency in operating and troubleshooting laboratory equipment such as hematology analyzers, coagulation analyzers, and microscopy.
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail, with the ability to accurately interpret test results.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues and healthcare professionals.
- Commitment to maintaining high standards of quality assurance and laboratory safety.
- Certification as a Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS) or Clinical Laboratory Scientist (CLS) by a nationally recognized accrediting agency (e.g., ASCP, AMT).
- Experience working with laboratory information systems (LIS) and proficiency in using computer software for data analysis and reporting.
- $65,000 to $80,000 salary (depending on experience)
