    Sr. Manufacturing Engineer position to support the design and manufacture of the Cone Drive Harmonic Solutions product line. The engineer is responsible for developing, implementing, and executing manufacturing processes, along with continuous improvement of existing processes. This position will interface and collaborate with a cross functional team including Operations, Quality, Design Engineering, and Product Development.


    Job Responsibilities:
    Duties include, but not limited to the following:Develop and implement CNC programs and detailed process plans for precision mill-turning and grindingSpecify and implement workholding and cutting tools for manufacturing operationsCreate and maintain process instructions (routings, work instructions, )

    Develop standard work and time standards for machining and assembly processesDefine inspection methodologies and support quality issuesProvide daily support to shop floor to maintain productionTrain operation personnel on the execution of manufacturing methods and processesLead production launch and improvement activities to support new and existing programsSupport the specification and launch of new equipment and processesApply LEAN manufacturing techniques to facilitate TAKT, flow, pull, waste reduction, and support a continuous improvement cultureLead application of data-driven methods to reduce costs and quality defects, such as FMEA, SPC, and PPAPApply statistical methods to troubleshoot processes and conduct root cause analysisSupport and manage NPI projectsSupport product design activities to ensure manufacturing processes are developed in parallel and taken into account to support product and customer requirementsDiscuss and solve complex problems in a team settingMaintain positive outlook and encourage and grow the teamResearch areas for continuous improvement in all areas of the Harmonic product lineRequired and Preferred Experience:
    BS in mechanical/manufacturing engineering Minimum of 5 years relevant experience with emphasis in precision machining environment.

    Minimum of 3 years relevant experience running production machines, both manual and CNCIntimate knowledge of common machine tools including lathes, mills, mill/turn, and grindersFamiliarity with gear hobs, gear shapers, and gear grindersExperience with process, tooling, and fixture designStrong programming capabilities of 3, 4 and 5 axis CNC machines.

    Preferably in ESPRIT Experience and understanding of precision inspection methods and equipmentStrong SolidEdge, SolidWorks, or similar CAD software capabilitiesProficient in MS OfficeKnowledge of DIN, SAE, ASTM and AGMA specificationsKnowledge of special processing operations such as Heat Treating, Non-Destructive Testing, Shot Peening, Coating, Plating and PaintingKnowledge of quality systems, including PPAP, FMEA, Control Plans, GR&R, Process Capabilities StudiesExperience with LEAN initiatives and root cause analysisUnderstanding of GD&TProject Management skillsStrong critical thinking, analytical and problem solving skillsSelf-motivated with strong drive to complete tasks and projectsIdeal candidate will have experience of the design and manufacturing of strain wave gearing and components.
