- The Director of Land Acquisition is responsible for finding, sourcing, acquiring, and prioritizing land acquisitions for the company
- Pursue, negotiate, and underwrite new multifamily development opportunities through existing network of Land Sellers, Land Developers, and Land Brokers
- Act as the primary point of contact between The Collier Companies and Sellers
- Prepare Investment Memos and present acquisition opportunities to the Investment Committee
- Prepare Letters of Intent and negotiate land acquisition opportunities with Sellers
- Participate in drafting and negotiating Purchase and Sale Agreements and Amendments
- Review closing documents and oversee the closing process for Development
- Review Title and correct any deficiencies
- Manage external land acquisition team of engineers, attorneys, planners, and surveyors
- Prepare and submit design documents and Land Use Applications to the authority having jurisdiction
- Attend Public hearings as needed
- Prepare and maintain initial project budgets and prepare/update monthly development reports
- Prepare and maintain project level financial projections and analyses
- Prepare and maintain data on select markets and comp sets
- Manage acquisition meetings
- Participate in Development meetings
- Expand TCC's existing network of Land Sellers, Land Developers, and Land Brokers
- Expand TCC's network of land use consultants and professionals
- Provide leadership, mentoring, and directly manage two or more employees
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Real Estate, or other related field is preferred for this position.
- MBA, MSRE, JD or Master's Degree with applicable concentrations preferred
- Five years of experience in real estate development and multifamily land acquisitions with a firm background in land planning, zoning, land use law, and deal underwriting
- Demonstrated history of leadership

The Collier Companies is seeking a Director of Land Acquisition to join our team
The Director of Land Acquisition is responsible for leading the Land Acquisition Department, negotiating land acquisitions for profitable (100 bps+ spread between Dev Yield & Cap Rate) 300+ Apartment Homes Class A Luxury multifamily developments, in low tax, low regulation states, procuring entitlements, due diligence, project level financial analysis, and overall management of the land acquisition process from LOI to closing. The Director of Land Acquisition is expected to successfully collaborate with Team Members and manage multifaceted tasks for multiple projects with short deadlines.
The Director of Land Acquisition reports directly to the Executive Vice President of Development.
This role will report out of Florida, which offers beautiful natural areas, a temperate climate, and tremendous educational, cultural, and commercial opportunities.
