- Oversee daily operations of the Surgical Department and manage the nursing staff.
- Ensure efficient, effective utilization of human, financial and material resources.
- Assist with the preparation and monitoring of annual budgets.
- Monitor supplies and maintain proper inventory control.
- Complete staff performance reviews.
- Prepare and approve departmental time records.
- Assist in development of departmental strategic plans.
- Coordinate department specific tasks and patient care within the department.
- Act as a coach, mentor and resource to staff and manage daily staffing changes.
- BSN Degree or Baccalaureate in a related field preferred.
- Must be a licensed Registered Nurse in the State of Iowa.
- Certified in BLS and ACLS, recommended NRP, PALS.
- Five years of experience in the field of nursing with at least two of those years in OR.
- Supervisory, leadership and management skills.
