What You Will Be Doing

• Oversee daily operations of the Surgical Department and manage the nursing staff.
• Ensure efficient, effective utilization of human, financial and material resources.
• Assist with the preparation and monitoring of annual budgets.
• Monitor supplies and maintain proper inventory control.
• Complete staff performance reviews.
• Prepare and approve departmental time records.
• Assist in development of departmental strategic plans.
• Coordinate department specific tasks and patient care within the department.
• Act as a coach, mentor and resource to staff and manage daily staffing changes.
  
  

Experience You Will Need

• BSN Degree or Baccalaureate in a related field preferred.
• Must be a licensed Registered Nurse in the State of Iowa.
• Certified in BLS and ACLS, recommended NRP, PALS.
• Five years of experience in the field of nursing with at least two of those years in OR.
• Supervisory, leadership and management skills.
