The Sales Development Specialist is responsible for delivering results for the USI Sales and Marketing teams by executing tasks related to effective and efficient lead management.
They will perform targeted prospecting via phone outreach and email, working closely with relevant business partners to enhance the quality of client interactions, and will have established communication and feedback loops with all USI sales teams.
This role is responsible for handling and qualifying leads from a variety of sources related to potential or existing clients and is expected to efficiently identify client needs and effectively coordinate with partners to identify appropriate next steps.
In conjunction with their understanding of client needs, investment products and strategies, and industry knowledge, they will use their strong interpersonal skills, resiliency, and project management skills to broaden the external reach of USI's value proposition, refine internal processes, and contribute to the continuous improvement of data quality and operational efficiency within USI.
The Sales Development Specialist should possess and continuously refine a strong sales process to drive the opportunity conversion.
Crucial to this is the ability to support territory and account management through lead prioritization, utilizing new tools and processes while actively evaluating and seeking to improve these resources, and consistently delivering a premier client experience.
Through a variety of client activities, including 50+ phone calls and emails per day, the SDS is responsible for cultivating and broadening prospect and client relationships while identifying and prioritizing opportunities.
The SDS is fully engrained in the CRM process, documenting and updating Salesforce to ensure data integrity as well as deepening expertise within the system.
They are expected to provide insight and proactive ideas for enhancement to optimize internal/external salespeople's time as well as to create improved client experience.
They are expected to assist USI in lead management data reporting on a monthly and quarterly cadence, informing sales and marketing leaders on the engagement and performance of the sales teams and campaigns.

Through direct client engagement, the Sales Development Specialist use their sales abilities to efficiently research, profile and build rapport with prospects and clients, identify and effectively qualify opportunities and position next steps.

Direct and pivot conversations, as needed
Gain agreement and set expectations on next steps
The Specialist will partner with Sales, Marketing, and the shared services team to help drive improved engagement and evolve processes.

Bachelor's degree or the equivalent combination of education and relevant experience AND

FINRA licenses are required and will be supported for this role: This role requires the FINRA Series 7 and Series 66 licenses.

Wage Transparency Disclosure* - Colorado: Minimum salary (USD) range $63,500 - $109,000 Annual
*Placement within the range provided above is based on the individual's relevant experience and skills for the role. Base salary is only one component of our total compensation package. Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus, which is determined upon company and individual performance. Salary range disclosure as required by sb19-085 when hiring in Colorado, S9427A when hiring in New York, SB 1162 when hiring in California, and SB 5761 when hiring in the State of Washington.
