    Job Description


    Summary Coordinate the procurement and distribution of materials, parts, equipment, and supplies for the organization by performing the following duties.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
    Review and analyze purchase requisitions.
    Coordinate purchasing activities with manufacturing, planning and engineering departments to acquire inventory in a cost effective and timely manner.
    Process purchase requisitions, purchase change orders and requests for quotes to suppliers.
    Responsible for procurement business system data input and integrity.
    Analyze purchase history to get the best price based on volume.
    Perform cost analysis and volume planning for commodities managed (e.g. materials, components).
    Negotiate long-term agreements with suppliers for cost and lead time.
    Develop supplier relationships and manage suppliers for performance, cost, quality, and delivery.
    Identify new suppliers based on the capabilities Axcelis requires.
    Interact closely with suppliers and QA to resolve quality issues.
    Effectively apply expertise of assigned commodities to compare and apply best practices across industries and companies.

    Education and/or Experience Bachelor's degree preferred from a four-year college or university and 3-5 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience

    Certificate/Licenses/Special Requirement
    Percent of travel required up to 10 %.

    Other Skills and Abilities
    Ability to read, write, comprehend and speak English sufficiently well to perform job functions.
    Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office; experience with Microsoft Access preferred. Working knowledge of MRP required.
    Working knowledge of kanban, cost out and lead time reduction initiatives are required.
