    Summary About the Position:

    The Chemical Biological Center (CBC) is the nation's principal research and development resource for non-medical chemical and biological defense.

    As a critical national asset, CBC supports all phases of the acquisition life-cycle from basic and applied research through technology development, engineering design, equipment evaluation, product support sustainment, field operations and demilitarization.

    Visit us at Responsibilities Foster communication, relationships and planning between DEVCOM CBC, associated customers within the Chemical Biological Defense Program (CBDP) Community, and specified Command, Staff and Senior Leadership.

    Apply technical and procedural knowledge of the responsibilities, efforts and authorities of DEVCOM CBC, and associated customers with respect to the research, development and acquisition of mission-peculiar equipment.

    Identifies issues and weaknesses and recommends solutions for projects, proposals, and schedules which may be divergent or contentious in nature.

    Represents DEVCOM CBC, and associated customers within the CBDP Community in multiple inter and intra-agency working groups across the Departments of Defense, Homeland Security and broader Joint CBDP organizational landscape.

    Specialized Experience:

    To qualify based on your experience, your resume must describe at least one year of specialized experience which prepared you to do the work in this job.


    Specialized experience is defined as:

    1) Integrating Chemical, Biological, Radiological Nuclear (CBRN) research initiatives to address operational gaps identified within Army and associated customers within the Chemical Biological Defense Program (CBDP) Community; 2) Coordinating and assessing user feedback for research and development projects; and 3) Participating in program development and decision briefings, review boards, technology transition planning and program alignment meetings to facilitate wider capability migration across DoD.

    This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-13).


    Time in Grade Requirement:

    Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-13).

    Education Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience aloneno substitution of education for experience is permitted. Additional Information Male applicants born after December 31, 1959, must complete a Pre-Employment Certification Statement for Selective Service Registration. You will be required to provide proof of U.S. Citizenship. One year trial/probationary period may be required. Direct deposit of pay is required. Selection is subject to restrictions resulting from Department of Defense referral system for displaced employees. This is a Career Program (CP) 60

    Payment of Permanent Change of Station (PCS) costs is not authorized, based on a determination that a PCS move is not in the Government interest.
