    Description

    Since 1954, Central Power Systems & Services has been providing partners with the highest level of support. No matter the situation, we have solutions for Power Generation, Power Distribution, Industrial Engines, Construction and Agricultural Equipment, Custom Manufactured Projects, and On-Highway Transportation Service.

    A Branch Manager will manage our Service Manager and Parts Manager. This role would oversee day-to-day service and parts operations at the branch. Provide an in-house technical resource for our techs. Improve our current service/maintenance processes. Maintain and update 3/6/9-year maintenance programs. Mentor and evaluate technicians. Maintain technician training and advancement.

    The ideal candidate will be someone with industry experience. Strong technical ability. Strong service background. Well organized. This role will need an understanding of Switchgear enough to enable them to effectively manage corrective repairs, preventative maintenance, and modifications using switchgear manufacturer support channels.

    Key Responsibilities:
    • Manage day-to-day branch activities including parts, service, and providing directions to employees.
    • Develops and implements goals, objectives, policies, procedures, and priorities. Identifies opportunities for improving service delivery methods and procedures; identifies resource needs; reviews with appropriate management staff; and implements improvements.
    • Approve expenses and approve payable invoices.
    • Review and approve weekly time reports from Technicians for accuracy and follow-up with payroll.
    • Ensures employees have the knowledge and skills needed to perform their jobs by providing or scheduling regular technical and operational training. Provides learning opportunities to develop employees for promotion opportunities.
    • Ensures adequate staffing levels to meet business needs by working with Service Manager and Parts Manager to coordinate scheduling, approve vacation, and cross-training employees to fill in when needed.
    • Provides a safe working environment by communicating safety rules; observing and coaching employees in complying with safety rules; removing safety obstacles; complying with all governmental regulations including OSHA, Workers' Compensation, Fire, and MSDA; and ensuring all equipment is maintained and operated in a safe manner including the training and certifications of employees designated to operate equipment.
    • Ensures compliance at the branch level with all company employment policies, and applicable state and federal employment laws.
    • Develops relationships and rapport with customers to establish partnerships. Attends weekly meetings with top customers.
    • Supports Technicians via phone while they are in the field.
    Qualifications
    • Strong knowledge of Switchgear required.
    • Industry Experience required.
    • Valid Driver's License required.
    • Strong computer literacy, including effective working skills of Microsoft Teams, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
    • 1+ years of leadership and coaching experience required.
    • Strong presentation, analytical, interpersonal, and collaborative skills with all levels of internal and external customers.
    • Ability to lead and motivate team members.
    • Ability to write professional correspondence to employees, management, and vendors via internal and external communications.
    • Ability to work under limited supervision and with tight deadlines.
    • Ability to deal with people sensitively, tactfully, diplomatically, and professionally at all times.
    • Attention to detail in all areas of work.
    • Strong moral and ethical judgement in decision making, along with a commitment to maintaining privacy and confidentiality.
    • Strong customer service and troubleshooting skills.
    • Able to work effectively as a part of a team as well as independently.
    Physical/Mental Demands:
    • Ability to handle heavy telephone call volume.
    • Ability to regularly lift/move up to 10 pounds and lift/move up to 20 pounds occasionally.
