Virtus Healthcare Staffing Seeks Registered Nurse Educator - Emergency Room (Clackamas, OR)

Virtus Healthcare Staffing is partnering with a leading regional medical center in Clackamas, Oregon to find a passionate and experienced Registered Nurse Educator – Emergency Room (ER).

In this critical role, you will play a pivotal part in shaping the future of emergency care by providing exceptional education and training to our dedicated ER nursing staff. You will ensure they possess the necessary skills and knowledge to deliver high-quality, compassionate care to patients experiencing a medical emergency.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement comprehensive educational programs specific to emergency room procedures, protocols, and best practices.
• Deliver engaging and interactive classroom instruction, including lectures, simulations, and skills demonstrations.
• Precept and mentor new ER nurses during clinical rotations, providing ongoing support and guidance.
• Conduct competency evaluations and identify areas for improvement within the nursing team.
• Stay up-to-date on the latest advancements in emergency medicine and integrate them into educational programs.
• Collaborate with department leadership to assess training needs and develop solutions for skill gaps.
• Participate in the ongoing development and revision of ER policies and procedures.
• Foster a positive learning environment that promotes continuous professional growth for all staff members.

Basic Qualifications:

• Minimum two (2) years of experience teaching nursing students or healthcare professionals.
• Minimum three (3) years of clinical experience working in an emergency room setting.
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree from an accredited institution.
• Current and active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Oregon.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification; must obtain certification within 1 month of hire (if not already held).

Preferred Qualifications:

• Minimum three (3) years of leadership or management experience in a healthcare setting.
• Minimum five (5) years of experience teaching nursing students or healthcare professionals.
• Minimum five (5) years of clinical experience working in an acute care setting.
• Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) degree with a focus on emergency medicine or a related field.
• Certification in a relevant specialty practice, such as Nursing Professional Development (NPD) or Emergency Nursing (CEN).
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to effectively train and motivate staff.
