    OPPORTUNITY

    The Civil Engineering Project Engineer is responsible for day-to-day project activities, quality control, project deliverables, and shop drawing review and is capable of overseeing all design phases of the project related to site design.

    Has advanced technical knowledge, including site layout, utility, grading and drainage designs of commercial or retail projects; and able to produce civil engineering plans in AutoCAD.

    Possesses effective management skills and can provide direction to less experienced staff in the preparation of Civil engineering documents and reports.

    Has proficient knowledge and understanding of the land development process, including Municipal permitting process. Supervision received is administrative with assignments given in general terms and objectives. Directs and coordinates the workload with other project team members. This position reports to the Civil Engineering Project Manager, Associate Director or Director.

    General duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

    Everyday project activities, quality control, and project delivery.
    Overseeing all phases of the project from design to contract document.
    Overseeing specification production.
    Overseeing shop drawing checks.
    Site visitations.
    Project closeout.
    Possess practical management skills and can plan, direct, and monitor all aspects of projects.
    Supervision received is essentially administrative, with assignments given in general terms and objectives.
    Makes engineering design decisions independently.
    Directs and coordinates the workload with other project team members.
    Coordinates with other internal and/or external team members.
    Other duties as assigned.


    REQUIRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES
    Excellent technical knowledge within the field of civil engineering.
    Coordinates, writes, and/or edits specifications as applied to civil engineering.
    Strong leadership skills can meet deadlines and provide high-quality service to clients.
    Excellent written and interpersonal communication skills.
    Ability to interact professionally and with integrity.
    Strong planning, organizing, time management, and multi-tasking skills, with attention to detail and accuracy.
    Demonstrated ability to work, manage, and meet competing deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
    Ability to self-manage projects from start to finish, with oversight.
    Demonstrated problem-solving and critical thinking ability.
    Ability to work independently as well as in a collaborative team environment.
    Proficient in current versions of Revit, AutoCAD, 3D Studio or Form-Z, Photoshop, MS Word, and MS Excel.
    Thorough understanding and knowledge of building codes, zoning codes, and approval processes related to civil engineering.
    Thorough understanding of building systems and site requirements related to civil engineering (Structural, MEP, Civil & Geo-Tech).


    EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
    Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or related field.
    3-5 years' experience on commercial, industrial, or residential projects.
    Professional Engineer (PE) Licensure is required.
    Strong leadership skills – ability to meet deadlines and provide high-quality service to clients.
    Excellent communication skills (verbal and written).
    Coordinates, writes, and/or edits specifications and shop drawings as applied to Civil Engineering.
    Highly organized, detail-driven, and conscientious.
    Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Suite (Excel, Word, Project, etc.).
    Advanced knowledge of AutoCAD.
    Stormwater design software (desired).
