    Overview

    Calspan ASE is the world's number one supplier of ground-based testing solutions and expertise for the aerospace industry. We are seeking a motivated Director, Sales to broaden the customer base throughout the aerospace wind tunnel test space and close orders.

    Responsibilities

    Core Responsibilities Listed Below – Compensation and position level commensurate with education and experience.

  • Identify and close new business opportunities in the wind tunnel market segment either directly or with assigned team with a focus on growing the hypersonics test business. Work directly with major government agencies, OEM's and other commercial enterprises to demonstrate the value and expertise of Calspan ASE.
  • Directly manage the designated core customer base from a retention and growth. Participate in the development of project proposals and spend the necessary time with customers to present and document the value and identify new opportunities. Develop strong working relationships with internal and external business partners.
  • Develop and relentlessly implement a strategic sales and marketing plan that clearly outlines the direction and milestones of our BD and marketing efforts for sustainable profitable growth that is alignment with our company strategic plan. Provide regular and accurate feedback for revenue/profit forecasts.
  • Professionally represent the company at various business conferences, trade shows and community events. Increase our visibility within the technical/lecture communities.
  • Qualifications

    Preferred Education / Experience:

  • Bachelors/Masters in relevant subjects that support the business development discipline
  • 10+ years in wind tunnels, hypersonic vehicle, or aerodynamic test development or related discipline
  • Experience and expertise in technical marketing and sales or a combination of education and experience
  • Preferred Knowledge / Ability:

  • Proven track record of meeting Business Development/Sales objectives in a technical consultative selling environment
  • Strong working knowledge of government & commercial contracts; ability to navigate landscape in both arenas and effectively communicate market
  • Existing relationships with Aerospace OEM's and/or wind tunnel test providers
  • Strategic thinker, passionate about driving growth, customer management/relationship building skills
  • Superior verbal and written communications skills; expertise in writing documents and presentations in a highly dynamic environment
  • A self-starter, risk taking, highly innovative individual with strong organizing and time management skills to handle multiple priorities, responsibilities and customer needs.
