    Head of Youth ServicesLocation: Coatesville Area Public Library, 501 E


    Lincoln Hwy Coatesville, PADepartment:
    Youth ServicesThis part-time position is responsible for serving children and teens, and their families, in an urban,community-centered library.

    The librarian assuming this position will be responsible for planning andimplementing outreach programs with local schools, developing and leading library programs for preschool and elementary students, and managing the Youth Services team.

    The librarian may also providereference and readers advisory services when needed.

    This position requires a Bachelors degree in a related field (such as Library Science or Education), withat least one years relevant experience preferable.

    Knowledge of childrens and young adult literature,knowledge of child development, and experience planning and presenting programs is needed.
    Experience making lesson plans to PA education standards is preferred. Experience with Canva andLibCal is a plus. Candidates should have excellent oral and written communication skills, organizationskills, and leadership ability.

    Enthusiasm, flexibility, energy, and a genuine enjoyment of working withlibrary customers of all ages and diverse backgrounds are a plus.

    This position may include daytime,evening, and weekend days, but can be flexible to applicants' needs.


    Required physical abilities:

    to operate a keyboard; to kneel, bend, reach, stoop; to stand and walk formost of the day; to repeatedly lift, move, handle, and shift library materials weighing up to 25 poundsand push carts of up to 50 pounds.

    Reliable transportation is required as this position will be expected toperform outreach at local schools.

    All library positions require the following criminal background and child abuse clearances:
    Report ofcriminal history from the Pennsylvania State Police (PSP); Child Abuse History Clearance from theDepartment of Human Services (Child Abuse); and Fingerprint based federal criminal history submittedthrough the Pennsylvania State Police or its authorized agent (FBI)
