    Job Description AKF Group LLC, an award-winning professional services firm providing engineering, commissioning, testing, technology, sustainability and lighting design services is currently recruiting a Plumbing and Fire Protection Project Engineer.

    The ideal candidate plans and conducts work requiring judgment regarding the independent evaluation, selection and substantial adaptation and modification of standard techniques, procedures and criteria. Successfully completes medium to large engineering projects by organizing and controlling project elements. Works closely with the Partners (PIC), Project Managers (PM) or Senior Project Engineers for technical review and guidance.

    **What You Will Do:**

    Assist the PIC and/or PM in business development activities, including responding to RFPs and developing proposals

    Assist the PIC and/or PM in developing project objectives by reviewing project proposals and plans

    Assists the PM to determine project requirements by identifying project phases and deliverables; assists the PM in developing the trade-specific project plan; notifying PM or PIC of budget problems due to scope creep and additional services

    Assist PM in preparing extra services requests

    Design plumbing and fire protection systems including calculations of preliminary water, gas, sanitary/sewer and storm loads and provide technical solutions, ensure completeness of scope, including inter-trade coordination and adhering to the firms QA/QC process; perform code analyses; examine field conditions to support development and completion of projects

    Represent the company in a professional manner in all dealings with owners, architects, vendors, other design professionals and contractors

    Assist in the firms human resource efforts through training and mentoring junior firm members

    Communicate project job expectations, planning, monitoring and reviewing project contributions and communicating with the PIC

    Demonstrates core values and serves as a role model/mentor to all firm members.

    Enhances the firms reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing internal and external client requests

    Updates job knowledge and technical expertise by participating in educational opportunities, reading professional publications, participating in technical organizations and obtaining certifications in area of expertise and participating in the firms Technical Committee as requested
