    Job Overview:


    Responsible for the overall collection of data, quality control of the databases, and statistical analysis of data for use in support of the effective operations of the central Medical Staff Office (MSO).

    Maintain the system s credentialing software with current data pertaining to the medical staffs and all privileged providers within the RWJBarnabas Health System.

    The Data Analyst will collect and analyze data, interpret results, and create reports and recommendations to the leadership team.

    The Data Analyst will support the central MSO AVP, and Medical Staff Leadership to interpret results from the analysis and corresponding reports.

    Provides direct support to all department team members and serves as a liaison to the enterprise Information Technology department.

    Possesses and develops a strong grasp of the medical staff operations and the cultures of each affiliated institution and works to find common ground for efficient solutions across the RWJBarnabas Health enterprise.


    Qualifications:

    Required:
    Associate degree or combination of education and experience deemed equivalent
    Proficient in technology and data science
    Successful completion of all RWJBH orientation programs
    Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
    Ability to work under minimal supervision and to adapt quickly to changes within the environment
    Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
    Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio)
    Experience with software testing and quality assurance
    Familiarity with database query language and data analytics tools

    Preferred:
    Healthcare experience or education in Healthcare Administration strongly preferred
    Knowledge of credentialing software and associated applications strongly preferred

    Essential Functions:
    In accordance with established policies and procedures for the Central MSO, the Database Analyst shall:
    Maintain and support the credentialing database used by the Central MSO as well as local hospital medical staff offices
    Act as a functional and technical resource and system expert
    Provides MSO leadership with real-time data analysis to establish and meet quality objectives and enhancing operational efficiency and effectiveness
    Act as a liaison between the credentialing software vendor and RWJBarnabas Health IT, and local Medical Staff Offices
    Assures the security, integrity, and confidentiality of the credentialing database in accordance with system and/or hospital policies
    Validates data and maintains data dictionaries for all central MSO systems
    Supports all users by providing education, ongoing assistance, reference, and troubleshooting
    Assists in creating and maintaining productivity reports, graphs, and other information as requested
    Assists with the integration and optimization of the enterprise credentialing software system and inter-system integration
    Assist in the development and support of credentialing related forms
    Leads and/or participates in special project teams as assigned
    Participates in physician/end-use training and problem solving
    Maintains the confidentiality of all internal correspondence as well as with external entities
    Continuously strives to achieve individual, team and departmental goals
    All other duties as assigned
