    Job Description SummaryThe Nuclear Medicine Technologist assists the Radiologic Physician in the diagnosis and treatment of disease by the administration and detection of radioactive drugs.

    Maintains documentation of use and disbursement of all radioactive material. Performs daily and weekly calibrations on radioactive equipment and instruments. Maintains records on all calibrations and maintenance of equipment. Complies and updates records and files on all patients. Identifies, documents, and reports any incident or unsafe condition. Maintains proper level of supplies and Isotopes.
    Job DescriptionEssential Functions Manages all information obtained with strict confidentiality to safeguard patient information from use by unauthorized personnel.
    Follows Southeast Health Center's safety guidelines for self, patients, visitors, and employees.
    Follows Southeast Health Center's infection prevention policies.
    Independently handles communications in a manner, which decreases conflict.

    Is familiar with and follows hospital wide Radiation Policy and rules set forth by the Alabama Department of Public Health Division of Radiation ControlUses the PACS System in documenting correctly and accurately patient information to insure the quality of patient care.

    Uses the computer system correctly in charging the correct patient account with correct exams and supplies.
    Demonstrates the ability to perform all exams in the department. Has taken the initiative to insure one's own competency with each exam.

    Demonstrates the knowledge and ability to provide age-specific care to the following age groups in the clinical setting by observation.

    Demonstrates the knowledge to perform all exams in the department. QualificationsMinimum Experience RequiredRegistered by American Registry of Radiologic Technologists or certified Nuclear Medicine Technologist.
    Minimum Experience PreferredTwo (2) or more years of healthcare experienceMinimum Education RequiredGraduate of a recognized Nuclear Medicine program.
    CPR CertificationMinimum Education PreferredCompletion of a undergraduate degreeRequired Skills/Abilities Basic typing and computer skills.
    Experience in operating personal computers in a Windows environment.
    Customer service oriented.
    Annual completion of competency requirements.
    Call support to the hospital within 45 minutes of notification.
