    Salary Grade NC14 Salary Range $49,158 - $86,026

    This position serves as Technical Trainer II for the State Maintenance Operations Unit.

    The position is responsible for assisting in the design and delivery of the unit's following training activities:

    On-the Job Training, Contract Inspection for TWs and TSI positions, Snow and Ice for Operators Refresher Course, the Transition to Leadership Course, Disaster project management and others.

    Additional responsibilities include Divisional training needs assessments and serving as a Unit Representative for the Transportation Academies.

    Maintains the departments Transportation Workers Training Program by coordinating with committee membership, fielding questions from the divisions and resolving course/technological issues that may arise and tempering the program to fit the needs of the department.

    Develops a training events calendar of contract inspection classes, snow and ice classes, transition to leadership classes, and disaster project management needed through Divisional assessments.

    Plans technical workshops by selecting and procuring host facilities, developing agendas and course work, develops and delivers presentations, administrating any testing required, and provides class rosters to Divisions.

    Works with units, divisions, and the central units to identify training needs. Works with affected units to create, develop, and implement identified training. Other duties as assigned.

    Associate's degree in engineering or industrial technology from an appropriately accredited institution, and six years of progressive experience in the work field(s) where the employees have responsibility for training or problem solving; or High school or General Educational Development diploma and six years of progressive experience in the work field(s) where the employees have responsibility for training or problem solving; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
